Subject: CAO Update from David Irons

Date: 09/17/2004 4:14:20 PM

Dear Concerned Citizens,

Thank you for participating previously in the process to update King County's Comprehensive Land Use Plan and the Critical Areas, Stormwater, and Clearing and Grading Ordinances. Review of the CAO and associated ordinances will continue at the Tuesday, Sept. 21, meeting of the Growth Management and Unincorporated Areas Committee, which begins at 9:30 a.m. An agenda is attached below. These ordinances and the striking amendments introduced yesterday are scheduled for discussion, and public testimony will be taken. The GMUAC is scheduled to vote on these ordinances at its Sept. 28 meeting, beginning at 1:30 p.m.

If you oppose the approval of these ordinances in their current form, you are encouraged to attend these meetings or submit your comments via e-mail or letter about the need to balance environmental protection with property rights. You also can watch the proceedings live on Civic Television (CTV), cable Channel 22. An additional opportunity for public comment will be available on Oct. 18 at 9:30 a.m. when these proposals go before the full Metropolitan King County Council for a public hearing. More information about the CAO and striking amendments is available at https://www.metrokc.gov/council/cao

We need to hear from you about whether these new amendments address your concerns about the CAO. You can direct your comments and questions to our office at any time.
